AKA: Kevin Crompton

CEvin Key (b. February 13, 1961, Vancouver, Canada) is a Canadian musician, multi-instrumentalist and producer. Primarily known for co-founding the cult electro-industrial band Skinny Puppy alongside Nivek Ogre. After the band broke up in 1995 due to the death of keyboardist Dwayne Goettel, all his energies were directed to the new electronic band Download. Also under his own pseudonym in 1998 he released his debut solo album Music For Cats and took charge of his late friend Dwayne Goettell’s label Subconcious Records. In 2000 he reunited with Nivek Ogre for a one-off performance at the Doomsday festival in Dresden, which subsequently marked the beginning of the band’s reformation in 2003 and ended in 2004 with the release of The Greater Wrong of the Right and their next releases Mythmaker, HanDover and Weapon. In addition to Skinny Puppy and Download, he has also participated in various side projects: The Tear Garden, PlatEAU, Doubting Thomas, Hilt and Cyberaktif.
