Cannons are an American indie pop band based in Los Angeles, California. The group came together in 2013 when music producers and childhood friends Ryan Clapham and Paul Davis met singer Michelle Joy through a Craigslist ad. Since then, the trio has released five albums and two EPs. They are best known for their 2019 single “Fire for You”, which became their breakthrough hit after it was featured in the Netflix show Never Have I Ever the following year.

The band’s sound has remained largely consistent over the course of their career, blending elements of ‘80s synthpop, dream pop, funk and disco. Their music is characterized by atmospheric synth instrumentals, glossy guitars, and the sultry vocals of Michelle Joy.
