Canary Complex
Canary Complex is a solo visual kei project composed of baroque orchestration, impressionistic oil colors and ever-changing moods. In April of 2025, his third full-length album “A Whisper of Spring” had a limited “pearl” vinyl release, along with the hardcover book “An Echo of Winter”.
Canary Complex feels like a glimpse into an imagined, dreamlike past, drawing inspiration from the soft colors of Monet and Renoir to express an undeniable lust for life. Inspired primarily by bands such as LUNA SEA, SHAZNA, LAREINE and MALICE MIZER, this garden grows unobstructed with disparate influences beyond visual kei: With a stroke of his brush, Kasey pulls the cold and gothic tones of post-punk across the canvas and allows them to freely blend into the timeless elegance of French chansons and baroque pop- creating a cohesive artistic persona designed to pull listeners deeper into his oil-painted world.
