Caliban is a German metalcore band formed in Hattingen, Germany in 1997 under the name Never Again.
The name is derived from the deformed son of the witch Sycorax in William Shakespeare’s The Tempest.
Along with Heaven Shall Burn, Caliban is considered the most important representative of German metalcore.
