Caleb Gordon

AKA: Cash G, YTM CASH

Caleb Gordon (b. April 13, 2000) is an independent Christian artist and sound engineer from Ocoee, Florida.

Native of a humble city, Caleb Gordon’s rise undeniably defies all the odds. In his teenage years, he went by stage names “Cash G” and later, “YTM Cash” but this was only a phase. After High School, Gordon’s faith became paramount. He made his first gospel song with close friend and fellow Christian artist, Kenny Rivers in late 2018 yet didn’t begin sharing his new sound publicly until 2019.

Gordon began his independent career by releasing singles, with the exception of some songs with Kenny Rivers. July 2020, Gordon pledged his fans one new song every Sunday, dubbed the tradition, “Wavy Sundays”, and remained persistent. This uncommon resolve brought about iconic anthems, like “West Orlando Flow” to interpolations, like his take on Polo G’s “RAPSTAR”. All of which established Gordon as a critical voice in the post Lecrae era of Christian hip-hop. He divided many of these singles and few collaborative efforts into three separate albums, called, Before The Garden: Vol. 1, Vol. 2, and Vol. 3. Days after this bundle-drop, he officially became the new talk of Rapzilla. Wrapping up the 2021 success, Gordon pushed an outfall of collaborations with other young talent in the game, like Hulvey and numerous features in his second Christmas album, Christmas in Eden Vol. 2: Winter Wonderland.

January 2022, Gordon shared a song snippet on his social media pages, teasing (arguably) one of his most influential singles to date. He followed up with the official release of “Evidence” a month later and a promo video on TikTok that amassed up to 3 million views—awakening a greater audience of both non-religious and Christian fans to his sound. Following the next quarter, Gordon kicked off his notorious “Rocky Road” trilogy with a single and a highly anticipated sequel, featuring Christian rapper, Alano Ladan. Between major drops, “Evidence”, “Rocky Road Pt. 2”, “First Class Remix”, and continued algorithm victories, Gordon’s total Spotify streams more than tripled from the previous year, marking a significant turn in his career.

Gordon released a short series of EPs between 2023 and 2024, some of which were later taken down for controversy surrounding copyright infringement. The rapper admitted in apologetic YouTube single, “Copyright Strike” that biting beats from popular songs for samples and remixes wasn’t the right way to go about his artistry. Among these releases was his single, “War”, which went on to rank #36 on the billboard charts—a first in his career, just before removal. Fortunately, Bob Marley’s team cleared the original sample upon request, allowing it to quickly return to streaming platforms. Within the same year, “War” and a feature on Forrest Frank’s “God is Good” simultaneously earned Gordon his very first placements on Spotify’s viral 50 chart (USA).

December 2024, Rolling Loud Miami held its first ever Christian hip-hop set—“The Chosen Journey”, hosted by DJ Five Venoms and headlined by six special artists. Third on the roster, Caleb Gordon energetically took the stage with his songs, “We Live”, “War”, and “Yesterday Is Gone”. Gordon and peer, Hulvey flagged this historic event with their release of “Rolling Loud Freestyle” and its accompanying music video shot on-site.

Many fans are familiar with Gordon’s mantra, “Eden”, which is loosely coined from the sermon, “Eden – God’s Presence” by evangelist, Myles Munroe. He stated in an interview with He’s The Pastor I’m The Rapper Podcast:

“The song, Accountable, it talks about, “Eden is not a place, it’s an environment”, so I like to put that in everything. And it’s like, yo, Eden is not a place, it’s wherever God is. God is everywhere, so that means Eden is everywhere. So, that’s really what I’m pushin'. It’s just like, yo, you can be in the presence of God wherever you at.”
