BTB Savage (1996—3/30/2023), real name Darrell Gentry, was an American rapper from Texas. BTB stands for Break the Bank, an homage to the bank fraud and other scams that BTB Savage often rapped about. His most popular song to date is his 2022 single “Scam Story.”

BTB Savage was born in Cleveland, OH and later moved to San Antonio, TX. After pursuing NBA dreams as a teenager, he joined the US Army to provide for his child. While stationed in South Korea, he took classes on coding and cryptocurrency. While overseas, he was arrested by military police for fraud. After being held in prison for four months, he was released after forfeiting his military salary as restitution and was banned from ever reentering South Korea. After returning to the US, he committed to rap full time.

BTB Savage released four albums and collaborated with artists such as Veeze, Skilla Baby, and Juney Knotzz. On March 30, 2023, BTB Savage was shot and killed in Houston, Texas at the age of 26. It was widely speculated online that he was murdered in retaliation for a controversial social media post he made. In said post, Savage posed alongside bloodstains from an intruder he had killed in his apartment two months earlier after a failed robbery.
