Combining elements from thrash, death and sludge metal and inspired by acts such as Dying Fetus, Warbringer, Havok and Cannibal Corpse , Braindown is a new Thrashing death metal band from Delson, Québec. Founded in September 2016 by guitarist Thomas Fournier and drummer Frédéric Mercier, the current lineup adds long time vocalist Timothé “Shaggy” Fortin and newly recruited bassist Samuel Lortie.

First started as an unnamed rock cover band with their friends and first bassist Émile Martel, the band quickly grew a love for bands like Metallica and Slayer thus developping their style closer to it’s current form. After a year, former singer Shawn Lemire Lamontagne quitted and shortly after, Shaggy was recruited.

After another year and many name changes, they finally agreed on the name Braindown and they wrote their first song; Brainwashed. After a short line up change in August 2019 which featured Samuel Velasco on the bass guitar, Samuel Lortie joined the band in January 2020. Flash forward a couple of months later and the song has finally seen a release in May.

Now a few days away from the release of their debut EP; ‘'Atrocious Beliefs’‘, new band member and bassist Philippe Trottier joined the band after parting ways with Lortie due to creative and personnal differences. The lineup now consist of:
