Combining bedroom pop and indie pop with his unique ukulele-driven melodies, BoyWithUke skyrocketed to fame through a series of TikTok videos featuring his minute-long ukulele performances, all produced on his iPad. These videos amassed millions of views on the platform.

He made his streaming debut in 2021, with his viral TikTok success translating into impressive streaming numbers. His album, Fever Dreams, became one of the top ten album debuts during its first weekend on Spotify UK.

His breakout single “Toxic” further propelled his fame, garnering over a hundred million streams within the first few months and reaching #65 on Billboard’s Global 200 chart. The track was also certified Platinum by the RIAA for selling a million units.

Following “Toxic” and his signing with Republic Records, BoyWithUke announced his debut studio album, Serotonin Dreams, featuring singles like “Long Drives” and “IDGAF”, a collaboration with blackbear that became his first Billboard Hot 100 entry. The album debuted at #72 on the Billboard 200. Post-debut, “IDGAF” went on to achieve Gold status for selling half a million units in the US.

BoyWithUke’s second studio album, Lucid Dreams, saw him revealing his identity for the first time. While only confirming his first name as Charley, he made his first maskless appearance at the end of the music video for “Homesick” and fully unmasked in the music video for “King of Nothing”.

Prior to the release of his fifth album, Burnout, BoyWithUke stated that it would be his last album under his BWK moniker and that his new artist name would be Chandol, which he has confirmed to be his Korean name.
