Born Against was an American hardcore punk band from New York City active between 1989 and 1993. They were known for fusing their music with politics and humor. Though Born Against received little media exposure while still together, they have since been described as legendary by the Chicago Reader and the LA Weekly.

Born Against helped to define the 1990s post-hardcore scene, particularly by establishing the scene in ABC No Rio. They, alongside Heroin, Rorschach, Econochrist, and others, influenced a wave of bands in the early 1990s to push Revolution Summer emo into more extreme directions. Born Against has been cited as an influence by numerous bands across several genres, from hardcore to metalcore to screamo.
