Jalan Cordell Hunter (born November 29, 1997), professionally known as BoofPaxkMooky, sometimes referred to as simply Boof, Boofy, or Mooky, is an American recording artist reigning from Tarboro, North Carolina. Mooky is known for his work alongside producers and artists like Yung Brando and 1600J, among others, as well as being one of the early pioneers of the PluggnB genre.

Growing up in the small town of Tarboro, Boof had a normal childhood and never got involved into gang politics, despite his town having heavy gang activity. As a kid, Boofy’s father introduced him into Hip-Hop, putting him into rappers such as Cam'ron and Max B, while his mother on the other hand introduced him into R&B artists around the house. At the time, Boof didn’t had an interest into making music but instead was more focused towards basketball.

Boof would then meet Calii Breezze, who at the time had started engineering his own music, as well as selling his own mixes to other artists, to which Boof would quit basketball entirely during junior high to pursue a music career. His earlier known releases were during around the time he was in school, at just 17 years old, but gained little to no norite. Boof would then go onto release his debut mixtape, Paxk House, Vol. 1 in December 2016, which was hosted by DJ Ron Viper. From there, Boofy would continue to improve on his craft, releasing a slew of mixtapes and singles. Going into 2018, Boof would release his breakout hit single, “Show Me Up,” in which it was known to be one of the earliest songs of the PluggnB genre. Years down the line after the song’s release, Lil Tecca would do his own remix to the song, to which it gained more attention towards Boof.

In April 2019, Boof would go onto release his biggest single to date, “Ta Da” with the help of Yung Brando, a close friend and frequent producer of Boof’s music, and Calii Breezze, in which thanks to social media, it received more than 15 million streams. The track sits as the second track off his April 2019 EP, SpacePaxk 2, the sequel to his August 2018 EP, SpacePaxk. Other songs such as “Digits” with RealYungPhil, “Plan,” “Play Around” with 1600J, and many more would spark the success of Boof’s career.

From there, Boof has since gained a cult following in the underground scene, working with a variety of artists such as SSGKobe, KA$HDAMI, and Texako, in which the latter would become close collaborators, working on songs such as “Niggas” with Vonte*, another close collaborator of Boof and Tex, “Friday at Cascade,” “Outside,” and many more, as well as releasing a slew of mixtapes, EP’s, and singles. Standout projects such as I’ve Been High for Days with GRIMM Doza, Garden, The Leak with Neiiburr, and many more would showcase the creative mindset of Boof, to which some songs each project would see success. On August 15, 2023, Boof would go onto release his debut studio album, Glad.

Entering into 2024, Boof’s earlier song, “Last Man Standing,” would see a rise in numbers, thanks to social media garnering attention towards the song. Shortly after, one of Boof’s latest songs, “Hey Big Head,” would also see similar success to “Last Man Standing,” as it was considered to be one of Boof’s anticipated tracks of the year, thanks to TikTok and social media providing more attention to both the artist and the song. With the help from Racksman888, who had produced “Hey Big Head,” Boof would go onto collaborate with him on the mixtape, Look At What You’ve Done, released on June 20, 2024. Boof would also earn himself a record deal with Santa Anna Records, around the same time of the tape’s release. What Have I Done?, the sequel to Look At What You’ve Done, would then be released on October 1, 2024, serving as the second major collaboration tape between Boof and Racksman.

Boof would then release Sincerely, Boof on June 6, 2025, serving as the third installment in the Done trilogy with Racksman. He would then follow up the project with the release of For Your Sake with Vonte* on September 12, 2025.
