William “Bill” Niels, who performs as Bill Waves (formerly Wild Bill, Billy The Kid, and simply Bill) is an American rapper from Pittsburgh, PA known for his close friendship with Mac Miller. He also founding the clothing line Daily Bread.

Born June 17, 1988 in Virginia, Bill and his family moved to Florida a year later, then to New York City in 1995, and again to Shaker Heights, OH in 1997, before finally settling in Pittsburgh, PA in 2002. In Pittsburgh, Bill befriended Beedie, an amateur who was Bill’s age, and around 2007 Beedie introduced him to Easy Mac, Beedie’s 15-year-old rap partner in their duo The Ill Spoken. In October 2008 The Ill Spoken released their debut mixtape How High: The Mixtape, which included a feature from Bill (as Wild Bill) on “Say Goodnight Freestyle”, his first-ever rap appearance.

Over the next few years Bill and Mac became closely acquainted, and as Mac began his rise to fame as Mac Miller, Bill became a core member of Mac’s crew Most Dope, appearing throughout Most Dope’s annual 4/20 mixtape series and even photographing the cover of Mac’s breakout mixtape K.I.D.S. Bill gained a large surge in popularity in late 2013 from the song “Bill” off of Mac’s Delusional Thomas mixtape, appearing alongside Mac and Earl Sweatshirt. Earl spoke about the creation of the song in an interview on Sway in the Morning, praising Bill’s surprisingly good rap skills. Following the hype, Bill released his debut mixtape Vagrant in early 2014.

After a brief four-year hiatus, Bill has since released numerous projects, including multiple collaborative albums with different Pittsburgh artists such as Big Jerm, Beedie, and Billy Hoyle.
