Big Steve
AKA: Granpappy Mafioso
Steven Aniekan Eduok, better known by his stage names Big Steve or Grandpappy Mafioso, is a rapper born in Houston, Texas. He was a founding member of the hip-hop group Woss Ness, which also included Rasir X, Mista Luv, and Devious. In 1997, the group released their debut album, Da Game Done Changed. The album became a hit within the Houston rap scene, solidifying Big Steve’s reputation as a key figure in Houston’s underground rap movement. Tragically, before Big Steve could fully experience the success he had worked so hard for, he was murdered in 1999. Shortly after his passing, his first solo album, My Testimony, was released posthumously. The project showcased his remarkable talent and offered a glimpse into the soulful, introspective side of an artist whose potential was cut far too short.
