Christopher Noel Dorsey, known professionally as B.G. (short for “Baby Gangsta”), was born on September 3, 1980, in New Orleans, Louisiana. He rose to fame as a member of the Hot Boys, a hip-hop group formed under Cash Money Records in the late 1990s, alongside Lil Wayne, Juvenile, and Turk. The group gained national attention with hits like “I Need a Hot Girl” and “We on Fire.”

As a solo artist, B.G. released several successful albums, including 1999’s Chopper City in the Ghetto, which featured the hit single “Bling Bling,” a term that became a cultural phenomenon:

I came up with ‘Bling Bling’ just talking how we talk in New Orleans. Next thing you know, it’s in the dictionary.

In 2012, B.G. was sentenced to 14 years in federal prison for gun possession and witness tampering. He was released in September 2023 after serving over a decade behind bars. Following his release, he reconnected with his Hot Boys collaborators and resumed his music career:
