Between Thorns is a five piece band from Macclefield Cheshire. The band formed at school, when lead guitarist Josh Connor joined bassist Jack and drummer Ruairí to form EMPIRE. EMPIRE competed in Battle of the Bands before their lead singer Liam left to persue piano.

Looking for a new vocalist, the band discovered Lilly Hill, who joined the band in 2019 and became the lead singer for the group. In their Spotify Artist description, the band states “Out of the blue appeared Lilly and we were like WOW… she is definitely one of the boys”.

The group then decided to rename themselves Between Thorns and released their EP “Left Behind” across all platforms on April 26th, 2020.

In August of 2020, following lockdown, Rosie Bristow joined the band as a rhythm guitarist, thus completing the band.

The group gained popularity on social media app TikTok under the name @between.thorns, when their first ever video advertising their song “Brainwashed” went viral. The TikTok amassed over 107K views and popularized their music across the platform.
