Born in 1989, Rebecca has a holistic view of the London rap scene as she’s seen it change over time. Moving to South London as a young child, she watched the rise of grime in her birthplace of East London spearheaded by artists such as Wiley until it became a city wide phenomena with acts like Giggs and Skepta inspiring her as well. This city-wide view of the underground music world has shown her the quick-changing state of flux of British rap- and encouraged her to keep ahead of the game, building in trap influences to her work for an individual twist which she aims to make the future of London’s music scene. To do this she keeps open minded, drawing from Miss Lauryn Hill for melodies and out-of-the-box inspiration. Savvy and entrepreneurial, her motto is ‘from rap to riches’- and she consistently competes against herself with tight lyricism and powerful cadences. In a male dominated scene BeckMilli is both a breath of fresh air and a genuine threat to her competitors.
