Basic Channel is a German EDM duo consisting of Mark Ernestus and Mortiz von Oswald.
Ernestus and Oswald are two of the most important figures in techno, as they’re responsible for being among the first to bring techno to Europe. In particular, they’re known for being some of the ideators behind minimal techno, which proved to have great success in Berlin and launched EDM forward in Europe at large.
Basic Channel is the most known alias under which the duo put out music; others include Maurizio and Rhythm & Sound.
