BabyBeard, a Drexel University student double majoring in Music Engineering and Finance is a multi-faceted artist. He first began as a songwriting producer, specializing in love-filled R&B tracks like You Be Us. He then began to lay down his own vocals on tracks to create trap melodies like Shoulda Known and smooth ballads like The Worst Way.

BabyBeard was born as Joshua André Auguste in Melbourne, FL in 1998. But his diversified musical roots trace back to his hometown Stratford, CT. He was raised in a religious, Jamaican and Haitian household. The islands’ sounds shaped his ears early, until he was introduced to a whole new world at age 13. Hip-Hop. Artists like Kid Cudi, Kanye West, Busta Rhymes captivated BabyBeard right from the jump. As he continued to mature, the intricate harmonies of R&B began to influence his life. Heartbreak anthems of Usher and sweet serenades of Alicia Keys resonated in all the right places.

Producing was introduced to BabyBeard as a high school music course. After his second year, he began making tracks for Dancehall artist Nyck Muzyck in 2015. That shaped his decision to take his talents to college to absorb essential techniques. After years of repeatedly producing tracks, writing down catch hooks and fire verses, mixing sonically pleasing records and mastering a variety of projects, BabyBeard decided it’s time to release his own music.
