Axewitch is a Heavy Metal band from Linköping, Sweden. The band was formed in 1979 under the name “Hazy” and in 1981 changed its name to Axewitch.

Axewitch won a contest where the prize was getting to record in a studio, there they recorded and released their first release which was “Pray For Metal”. The release was not a success. In 1983 the band released its first full length, The Lord of the Flies and after release, most members of the band split up. The band released one more album in 1987 but after that almost all of the members left to go play in other bands.

In 2007 the band got back together and played local gigs and in 2021, released their first release in 36 years.
