A hypnotizing flow and captivating lyrics that have captured the hearts of many. Lyricist, rapper and producer, originally from Haifa, Palestine, Sallam Naser was born and raised in the Yarmouk camp in Damascus. With the upsurge in violence in Syria, he sought asylum in Drammen, Norway, where he quickly mastered the Norwegian language. In his latest album “Jabr Al Kisr” in collaboration with Maher Alhayek known as “Sha’ek,” Sallam speaks up for a generation of adolescents that share a common struggle; that to find a sense of home away from Home. The album consists of a series of ‘equations’ numbered from 1 to 12; in each ‘equation’ Sallam and Sha’ek transcend the concept of borders. Through their powerful lyrics, they paint a nostalgic image of Damascus, and stir the emotions of many no matter where they may be in the world.
