A.R. Rahman, birth name Allah Rakha Rahman, is an Indian film composer, record producer, vocalist, and songwriter who mostly works in Tamil and Hindi films. In 2010, the Indian government bestowed upon him the Padma Bhushan, the country’s third-highest civilian honour. Six National Film Awards, two Academy Awards, two Grammy Awards, a BAFTA Award, a Golden Globe Award, fifteen Filmfare Awards, and seventeen Filmfare Awards South are among Rahman’s accolades.
