Gloom Katz’s career started one afternoon, September 17th 2021 to be exact. She found an old song in her Google Docs about her ex girlfriend. After seeing other artists release their music to Genius, she thought she should try. She’s created multiple songs since then.

She cites her main influences as Conan Gray, Olivia Rodrigo, Waterparks, and Måneskin as well as fellow Genius songwriters Milo, Nigel, and Laci.
