Anberlin is an alternative rock band from Winter Haven, Florida. The band started out as saGoh twentyfourseven, a punk rock band in 1999 founded by Stephen Christian, Deon Rexroat, Joey Milligan, and late addition Nathan Young. In 2002, the band was signed to Tooth & Nail Records under their new name, which came from lead singer Stephen Christian mishearing the background of “Everything In It’s Right Place” by Radiohead. Other rejected band names included “Laredo” and “Clamor” (because it was too similar to Clash).

They hired on guitarist Joey Bruce, who was later replaced by Nathan Strayer, and finally Christian McAlhaney. The band started out on Tooth & Nail Records for their first three (and seventh) albums, but were recruited by Universal Music Group in 2007. The band announced that they would disband and announced a farewell tour across the world and their final album Lowborn in 2014.

The band reunited in 2018 by playing various live shows and performed all of their albums through livestreams during the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, 2022 saw the release of new music with an EP and its sequel in 2023. In 2024, both EPs would be combined to form Vega. The album marked a transition for the band as Stephen decided to step down and introduce their new lead singer Matty Mullins of Memphis May Fire by releasing two new songs with him for the album. The band is now apart of the Equal Vision Records roster.
