AMVRILLO

AMVRILLO is a rapper, producer, and musician from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Growing up as a kid on the outskirts of the city, he found creating music as a means to express himself while painting pictures of the world around him. However, his first introduction to music was when he started playing violin at age 9. Taking much of his inspiration from rap icons Kendrick Lamar, JID, & J. Cole among others, AMVRILLO took his life experiences and transformed it into musical art in the booth. All of his work is a result of teaching himself the basics of producing & mixing to find his sound, and incorporating it with his adept musical abilities.

AMVRILLO started uploading his first songs in high school on SoundCloud at the peak of the SoundCloud era in 2017. After graduating in 2019, he decided to take his work more seriously.

AMVRILLO would drop his debut mixtape, an EP called F4REIGN in November 2019, when he was in college. He continued to drop new singles consistently in the early 2020s, leading up to his first album installments in 2022, VANITY & e.m.p.ty. During that time, he would perform at numerous venues across Edmonton, gaining exposure for his work. That year would prove to be a prolific one catalog wise, as he would also begin to roll out his ‘rillo tape’ series, otherwise known as ‘The Rillogy’. These were all instrumental albums that explored his prowess in production & experimentation. He went on to drop four albums worth of material by the year’s end, finishing off with ‘deluxe tape’ in December 2022.

2023 would mark the end of the Rillogy era with his project ‘outta the blue’, released that November. He would also drop a birthday EP called ‘22’, and an instrumental EP to accompany ‘outta the blue’ called ‘yurei’. Both records would later be taken down. The following year would be a quiet one, as he only dropped a handful of singles, most notably the lo-fi boom bap track ‘wait’, while working on collaborations with Spanish artist Ulids.

The latter half of 2024 would see AMVRILLO begin the rollout of yet another instrumental album, which would end up being 2025’s release ‘paradigms’. He intended to drop a companion album called ‘reverie’ alongside the project but distribution issues ultimately led to it being released exclusively on YouTube. He would drop another collaboration with Ulids by the name of ‘red lights’ in March 2025 before later returning in fall of 2025 with his revised cut of “The Rillogy” series, ‘rillo tape 1.5’.

To start off 2026, Ulids & AMVRILLO released their collaboration ‘ULTRAMEGACOOL’. His earlier LPs VANITY & e.m.p.ty, have since been updated & condensed into one full length project, VANITY (end my pain, thank you).

Presently, AMVRILLO is working on new music and continues to do local shows in the city, as he attempts to stand out & establish himself as one of the more defining artists to come out of Edmonton.
