Amaranthe

Amaranthe (stylized as ΛΜΛRΛИТНЕ) is a Swedish melodic death metal band originally known as Avalanche, formed in 2008. The band is notable for having three lead vocalists who each present a different vocal style: harsh male vocals, clean male vocals, and clean female vocals.

Amaranthe mixes melodic death metal with pop music, a style often called kawaii metal or pop metal. It should also be noted that reputable metal database Metal Archives doesn’t consider the band to be metal, but does acknowledge their usage of metal elements. Lead singer Elize Ryd, describes Amaranthe’s sound as “dance-metal with a taste of death and modern/melodic metal,” and that their focus is on “positive energy” and “opening up minds and giving passion, strength and love.”

In the band’s later works their sound has shifted to include more symphonic elements.
