Alphaville is a German synth-pop band that was formed in 1982 in Münster, West Germany. The band’s original lineup consisted of Marian Gold, Bernhard Lloyd, and Frank Mertens. They are best known for their 1984 hit single “Forever Young”, which became a worldwide success and has since become a classic of the 1980s synth-pop era.

After the success of “Forever Young”, Alphaville went on to release several more albums throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including Afternoons in Utopia and The Breathtaking Blue. The band’s lineup has undergone several changes over the years, with Marian Gold being the only constant member.
