Alonelyness (stylised as alonelyness), is a UK-based solo artist who has a large discography after only releasing music since September of 2021. They explore a wide range of genres, from the simple lo-fi, to the complex experimental.

Their discography starts with the debut EP, titled start EP in September of 2021. This showcased a simple and dark tone, that hasn’t been in their discography since. Their next release was a demo album, titled Differences Between in April of 2022, with singles being Muscle Memory, and Motion Sickness Music. This album showed more creativity. With chaotic breaks, more versatile instrumentation, and more full songs, this album feels more complete than start EP. Not too long after the release of Differences Between, alonelyness released The Fires EP in May of 2022. It was a collection of songs made around the same time as start EP, with the only exception being the song The Fires, which was made around the same time as Differences Between. The final release in this era, is the demo album Unknown Territory, released in August of 2022, with an extra tracks EP releasing the same day. The singles being I Will Not, and Your Eyes. This album is a more rock-inspired one, with instrumentation inspired by punk-rock, post-punk, and art-rock. The album has a more ambitious turn compared to Differences Between, however, alonelyness wasn’t proud of this project when released. They wanted a new sound that would work well for their style.

Alonelyness then released the single Scrapers, which would be the first track of the next era of alonelyness. The song was a dive into the genre of lo-fi, with low-key instrumentation, and a common use of samples. However, they didn’t ditch the rock sound completely, as their next single, The Break Apart, serves as another attempt at a rock sound, however, this time with a more pop-inspired sound. The next and final single released for Scrapers was Purple Apple Flag, which is another lo-fi inspired song. This all lead into 2 demo albums releasing January of 2023, being Scrapers, and Comethrough. Scrapers features the before mentioned singles (Scrapers, The Break Apart, and Purple Apple Flag), and has the lo-fi inspired sound from the singles. Comethrough, on the other hand, is a more rock-inspired album, with less, but longer songs, with more focus on lyrics and experimentation.

After the release of these two albums, alonelyness announced their first full-length album, with the single/EP Cold Song / Trick Track / Alnite, which featured three songs (as mentioned in it’s title). This was then followed-up by the release of the second single/EP, being Crisps / Thoughts In Thinking, and the confirmation that there will be a new album, being Sweetheart Water, which released in April of 2023. This time, it would be a full-length, sixteen-track double-album, rather than a demo album, like the previous ones. This would be their most ambitious album by far, showcasing and exploring different genres, different structures, longer songs, and an overall more complete experience, with notable songs being Sweetheart, Pleased To Hear, The Artist, and Sunflower Alarms. During the lead-up to Sweetheart Water, they released 2 EPs, being Dark Noise EP, which was reworked into darklite, and the vault.
