Alexandra Căpitănescu

Alexandra Căpitănescu is a Romanian singer, songwriter, and performing artist who has emerged as one of the most compelling voices in Romania’s contemporary music scene. She first captured national attention as the winner of The Voice of Romania (Vocea României) in 2023, and has since been building a versatile and emotionally resonant musical career.

She represented Romania at the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 with the song “Choke Me”, after winning Selecția Națională from Romania.

Her powerful vocals and alternative rock style attracted significant attention during the contest. Romania successfully returned to Eurovision in 2026, and Alexandra finished in 3rd place in the Grand Final, achieving third time in 3rd place after 2005 (Luminița Anghel & Sistem with “Let Me Try”) and 2010 (Paula Seling & Ovi with “Playing with Fire”)
