Against the Current is a Pop-Rock band from Poughkeepsie, New York, that formed in 2011. It consists of lead singer Chrissy Costanza, guitarist/backing vocalist Dan Gow, and drummer Will Ferri.

Initally, they began as a cover band and gained popularity on YouTube. They set to release a debut EP, Infinity and an acoustic EP containing the same songs. After its unexpected success, the band applied the same formula; they released their EP Gravity and they followed it with an acoustic session with the same songs.

Against the Current’s sound fell more on the pop side of the spectrum when they were signed to Fueled By Ramen in 2015 and released their debut full album In Our Bones.

Sophomore album Past Lives, lead by singles “Almost Forgot” and “Strangers Again”, came out in September 2018.

Two years later, the band released their most mature work to date in the fever EP, which includes the standout track “weapon.” Against The Current found their unique sound and kept it up moving forward. Wildfire was their last release with label Fueled with Ramen.

The late 2022 single “blindfolded” is the band’s first independent release, followed by “good guy” and “silent stranger.”

In July 2025, the band revealed Bonus Tracks from the In Our Bones era. In early 2026, Against The Current went on a 15 Year Anniversary tour and shared their new single “Heavenly” and “Dead Man Walking” in April/May 2026 ahead of their Till Death & Back world tour.
