Under the pen name A.A.L (Against All Logic), Chilean-American artist Nicolas Jaar explores his enigmatic and abstract experimental productions in the form of house, electro, and dance styles.

First releasing tracks like “LKJ” as singles on his record label Other People’s YouTube channel, Jaar began to showcase the flavors of the A.A.L project, before delving into the cuts that would be included on his album 2012-2017, a compilation of all his work under the moniker of A.A.L between the dates mentioned in the album title. On that record, Jaar uses 70s funk and soul samples to create vibrant and explosive house tracks.

After collaborating with FKA twigs on her sophomore album MAGDALENE, 2020 would see Jaar continue with the A.A.L moniker on 2017 – 2019, evolving the previous house sound with a more distorted, experimental atmosphere.
