Raised and based out of San Francisco, CA, 22 year-old singer, songwriter, and producer Acoya brings a refreshing take on modern Pop and R&B. At a young age, he was captivated by music legends such as Michael Jackson and John Legend, and would memorize lyrics and choreography throughout his youth. Even then he had an aptitude and ear for music, but didn’t start writing or recording music himself until he was 18. As a freshman in college, songwriting began as an outlet to express himself, but quickly transformed into a passion that changed his life. He first became attracted to the smooth sound of contemporary R&B, and then later expanded his sound towards Pop, where he’s since been able to cultivate his musical style. As a completely self-taught songwriter, producer, and mix engineer, Acoya has been able to continuously improve and evolve as an artist with every release, telling stories from his own life and from the perspectives of others.

After graduating from University of California, Davis with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering in 2022, Acoya now intends to turn his dreams of being a full-time artist into his reality. Through his unique background and musical comprehension, he seeks to create his own distinctive pocket in the music industry.
