The veteran Chicago Hip Hop duo Abstract Mindstate formed in 1993, although the members met each other in 1990. The group made their mark during Chicago’s rising soul-sample-influenced backpack rap era that dominated the early 2000s. The duo consists of emcees Olskool Ice-Gre and E​.​P. Da Hellcat, who have collaborated with artists such as Kanye West, Common, John Legend, Slum Village, John Forte', David Banner, Blu, and a host of other notable creatives.
