Absolve was formed late in the summer of 2000 out of Allston, Massachusetts. The band consisted originally consisted of singer Adam J. Morse, guitarist Matt Rantz, bassist Paul Gerrish and drummer Heath Davis, but later included second guitarist Chris Le. When asked about the band’s sound, Morse replied: “Think of a combination between Grade, Quicksand, Snapcase, Far, Will Haven, Glassjaw, and Nothingface and you’re beginning to get the picture.” After releasing one EP, “The Anxiety of Influence” in 2001 and an LP, “A Cure for Separation” in 2002, the band dissolved.
