[Intro: Spoken]

This is, uh, some classic poetry

Some, like, highschool "I'm on my feeling, called you up to vent"

That's what it's like

Yeah, I feel so generic, everything I conjure's a common aesthetic

And I've written so many poems for you that I'm no longer poet, I'm looking pathetic

Far from prophetic, I spent youth a mute

Now saying how I feel these days is my most desired attribute

Mostly to contribute to the comments you provide

While you speak I'm pleasantly pondering on you and I

Oh my oh my, the plot thickens

I listen with blind folded eyes

As your syllables paint back and forth

I rest easy along your sighs

I'm not who you think I am, no no no

My castle's along the sand, yes yes yes

No trophies proceed me

Or valiant knights line at my command

I'm top a tower sulking writing every sweet nothing

Don't press, I might confess that this was all bluffing

I got a soft spot for you and those Instagram filters

You the type to keep the flowers singing so they never wither

Emitting ill ember, you're a mother fucking star girl

And I'm the fucker trying to tell your mother you're my whole world

Oh, that was corny?

Rearrange the phrase to sound clever but honestly there's nothing clever about me

Like controlla'

Young rock n' rolla'

Piece together all the past rhymes I tore up

Keep the woods rolled up

Crystal liquor poured up

Remind of me what I love so I can stay sober (x2)

(Yeah, so I could stay sober)

(Yeah, so I could stay, yeah)

I wish I could write you the sweetest song

Cause all of me is hardly worth anything at all

The reasons we make up always feel so potent

When it comes to self love when we speak it's choking

(Yeah)

Boy, it’s a struggle

Life is the light looking out through the rubble

Gut out the goods and you’re stuck with that tundra

Lightning strikes 'fore you releasin' that thunder

Girl, I’ve just been there, I swear it’s the coldest

Head ready to clench up, too hazy to focus

Home when it matters, alone with these with woes

No rivals to blame, I’m my own greatest foe so

Take my hand, cause I’m afraid of dying

I saw the face of God and penitence chimed in

I seek out the grails granted I wasn't chose

But to live for a moment with you, I go

Like controlla'

Young rock n' rolla'

Piece together all the past rhymes I tore up

Keep the woods rolled up

Crystal liquor poured up

Remind of me what I loved so I can stay sober (x2)

(Yeah, so I could stay sober)

(Yeah, so I could stay, yeah)

Love isn't simple

Love isn't kind

In the end it’s constant cause it's between you and I

It's a perfect divide

It's purely divine

Like ventin' to God and getting that reply

But when I see you the hole depression carved and caved in

Fills to brim, like the tub I lay in

And washes away the sins of my past days

Into your arms like a raging tidal wave

I, I really need you when the rain drops (Yeah)

I really need you when the wolves flock (Yeah)

I really need you till my brain rots (Yeah)

Will you want me till my life stops? (Yeah) (x2)

Like controlla'

Young rock n' rolla'

Piece together all the past rhymes I tore up

Keep the woods rolled up

Crystal liquor poured up

Remind of me what I loved so I can stay sober (x2)

(Yeah, so I could stay sober)

(Yeah, so I could stay, yeah)

[Outro: Spoken]

I just wanna, I wanna say thank you

To anyone who listened to these songs

I wrote some stuff during a difficult year

And I picked these to record

Cause I felt that they embodied the strongest rawest emotion

Of what I was feeling at the time

So I hope you enjoyed 'em and

Just, I'm very thankful, to anyone who listens

It's very easy to not feel that you deserve a small bit of love that you might receive

But I truly take it to heart, as a human being

And I hope I can give that back, to anyone who listens

So thank you so much, and yeah be safe

Have a great life

See you next time
