Second Chances

I’ve dreamed of a road, long, daring

Kept asking myself when will it be mine

I’ve dreamed of a long, daring road

Keep wondering when will it be mine

Oh, how I need a change of weather

A place to survive

Been waiting too long

My room grew too cold

Still eating the crumbs from the pie

Not down and out but standing in line

I guess I should know better

Than be left behind

Their backs hid the sun

I missed the starting gun

How time flies

Lost control of my feelings, oh my

In this Egotist’s world how can I cope

Selling myself to be proud

When the question we’re fighting over

Is with or without

Balancing on

A wave crashing down

Many plans of some old future

Forgotten scribbled lines

Head filled with all these echoes

Of what could have been

Son of a gun

I’m brooding again

What a sham

Day in day out I practice, being fun

Time halted and the ashes turned into trees

The white garment sliding off of my dearest dreams

Wasted sunsets, thought the sun may not rise again

Second chances sometimes we need to give ourselves

Burdened One

Don’t you give up trying the best, you can

It’s not the end

When the hero rides to the, setting sun

Your pride, their pride, who gives a damn

Silence, roaring, universe
