Sulphuric Glow

By Wode

On Burn in Many Mirrors

Thumbnail

Fleeing, deceiving

Awaiting the rapture to come

Within the sanctuary

All life has ceased

A poisoned torrent flows

Among the rushes

Pitch black disease

Cascading through the coiled depths

Now venture further

Behold the gift

Of what he stole from the abyss

The gates of dawn

Rusted and deformed

Under a sickle sun

With malice and spite

You will succumb to the night

Bleeding the shadows

Tormenting the saints

The earthly remains

And buried hearts yearn

While the black tower burns

Onward and downward

With each aching breath

Into the vale of death

Descent through the lower

Depths of the decayed

Strange yet familiar

A vile masquerade

Worlds shall form flesh in the graves of seven seals

The illusion of death

Soon to be revealed

Now the infirm shall be renewed

Black candles light a path for you

Where alleys form a labyrinth

A burning river flows underneath

Cold fingers trace patterns

Across walls laced with veins

The holy ghost, the apostate

The sacred and profane

Voices in the distance, a funerary choir

Orating from the precipice

Above the endless mire

Of mockery and infamy

O morning star, return to thee

A new world is dawning

The old world must end

Horrid manifestations

Await around the bend

Fever and folly

The cloak of the knave

Drowning in the catacombs

Among the ancient graves (The graves)

The hallways of the always speak in tongues of blue fire

A sermon for the wretched son, secret of man's desire

A doorway looms with yearning teeth

A hidden world pulsates beneath

Subterranean undertow

A feverish sulphuric glow

They dance with nefarious purpose

And mad convulsive zeal

The illusion of death

Shall now be revealed
