Not that far away

In the streets and alleyways

There's other folks astray

Someone lost under the cost

Of things we pay to keep us sane

To keep us sane...

Someone begging their way

Right through another day

Until the skies go grey

Until the cold takes hold

Until blankets unfold

But behind the glass and key-card pass

The sun still shines, and wines and dines

Sniffing lines of refined rhymes

You can just make out the glow

Through those distant windows

Just don't you go too close:

The guardians at the gates

Would have you beaten and kicked

But I'm sure that the back door

It wouldn't mind being picked

So go for it!
