Deranged Angel

On When Sorrows Come

Thumbnail

Fire, fire burning bright

In the depths of hell tonight;

Icy crystal shining clear

Up in heaven's belvedere;

But here between in our green fields

A greater wonder my sight yields...

You fell like a deranged angel

Into the shrapnel of today

Tried to tend the wounds

With some bathroom surgery

Hopes faded like cigarettes

In the ashtray of your heart

Erstwhile lighting up the night

But now ash meets flesh meets art

Lungs filled with unsaid words

And not one reaches your lips

As you stare at the eclipse

Of what could have been...

But a silence shared with you

Says more than a speech by a Queen

And your eyes whisper dark words

Meant to be not heard but seen

Your eyes whisper dark words

Meant to be not heard but seen

Your presence refills my heart

And our energy parts not but grows amazingly

Your words restore my spirit

And clear my mind to what is worth it

And what is not - guess what:

You are

You are so worth

Every kindness on Earth

Fire, fire burning bright

In the depths of hell tonight;

Icy crystal shining clear

Up in heaven's belvedere;

But here between in our green fields

A greater wonder my sight yields...

You fell like a deranged angel into the shrapnel of today...

You fell...
