Awkwardly the strokes fell

Inexperienced attempts to carve you from your shell

Wouldn't it be more commonplace to view - to merely observe

Rather than to influence, sculpt, review?

Dare I venture outward - let my thumb somehow find the paper

To smudge the details i vehemently laboured to divine?

To blur the form that held us captive

You’re an image that won't focus

And ill obsess over the details

Until it's fully grown

And I can step back to present the whole to myself

Maybe finally there will come clarity

Maybe finally there will come clarity

Awkwardly, now my strokes fall

I’m discerning an aura - crafting a spirit

A rougher, more human representation

Still clandestine shall my efforts remain

You’re an image that won’t focus

You’re an image that won’t focus

And ill obsess over the details

Until it's fully grown

And I can step back to present the whole to myself
