The kettle’s on the stove

The window’s mostly closed

The yellow sun is shaded

And the gold begins to show

The leaves have started falling

The winter’s almost calling

In California, change is slow

The end of summer stalling

I can feel you whispering

Long ago and yet to come, but never here to stay

I can feel you whispering

In swirling sunset waves

So grab a cup and come around

The music’s up, The sun is down

I think I’ll go another round

Pour the drinks and pass them down

Togetherness, foreverness

There is no thing better than this

I see the asters growing in

Your purple fountain crown

I can feel you whispering

Long ago and yet to come, but never here to stay

I can feel you whispering

In swirling sunset waves
