Trapped inside the guilt and shame we all hide

Bled out and discarded

The remnants of my former mind

Left for the vultures

No lust for life, no sense of connection

No end in sight, no hope of redemption

Left for the vultures

Left for the fucking vultures

My own thoughts deceive me

I can’t even trust myself

In the grip of anxiety

Wishing I was someone else

This is the final prayer

Of a man lost in the depths of despair

I built my castle on ashes

And watched it collapse around me

I gave up my ghost

Let my fire burn out

The light faded to nothing

But no soul is truly lost

Until the ember’s extinguished

No lust for life, no sense of connection

No end in sight, no hope of redemption

I see them circle overhead

With black wings and wicked eyes

Seeking out dead flesh

And now they devour mine

I am reborn, reincarnated

Given a second chance

An opportunity to rebuild

Whatever’s left of my life

But still they circle

My own thoughts deceive me

I can’t even trust myself

In the grip of anxiety

Wishing I was someone else

This is the final prayer

Of a man lost in the depths of despair

I built my castle on ashes

And watched it collapse around me
