Cold sheets

I can't remember my dreams

’cuz it felt so different

I saw you in my sleep

But I couldn't listen

To the words you said

My subconsciousness

Drowns out all the noise that's left

When I find myself alone in my cold sheets

I’m always makin' it worse

Wish I could know the things that haunt you when the panic occurs

When all the lights are off around you and the silence is cursed

And you know this ain't a play but you need time to rehearse

There's a million things that I would like you to know

Like how I never got to say i find it hard to let go

Of all the billion things around us that deprive me of hope

It's like I'm speedin' down a highway and I'm loosin’ control

I take a look at the clock, it’s four seven a.m

I start to think 'bout my job, you start to talk about friends

And how they never really cared about the shit you do

Only us against the world, yeah we’ll make it through

I can't remember my dreams

'cuz it felt so different

I saw you in my sleep

But I couldn't listen

To the words you said

My subconsciousness

Drowns out all the noise that’s left

When I find myself alone in my cold sheets

If only I could look inside your head

Face to face with demons and the monsters that you dread

I'd tell 'em that they're better off hidden under beds

Ask 'em why they left and why they torture you instead

I guess it's kinda funny how your brain can be

An adversary worse than your worst enemy

I tried to shut it off - didn't work for me

Nightmares creep into your fantasy

I can't remember my dreams

'cuz it felt so different

I saw you in my sleep

But I couldn't listen

To the words you said

My subconsciousness

Drowns out all the noise that's left

When I find myself alone in my cold sheets
