Tucker believes he’s closer to achieving his dreams of music taking him across borders on trips with his Ugandan chick. Also a play on the word “abroad” which could be heard as “a broad.”
This form of an oxymoron shows that despite his cool demeanor & willingness to collaborate with others, he’s still managed to rustle a few feathers of rappers that keep trying him.
Tucker speaks to those that thought his peers were competition that he in fact isn’t worried about them at all. He is his own army & doesn’t have to succumb to peer pressure. He is in control.
Tucker uses a book/ novel as a comparison to his life. He explains that he used to be undermined & not paid much attention when he started out, when it would have been most crucial since they would have been able to take note of & nurture his skills & abilities.
It’s also a play on the saying “loose lips sink ships”. He’s saying that he’s now more lyrically aware & versatile as a rapper (loose lips), and that he’s ready to take down anything or one that used to or still attempts to stand in his way. (sink ships)
There are a lot of aspiring new rappers eager to make a breakthrough in Hip Hop, but most of it is too similar, monotonous & repetitive.
Tucker has stayed consistent, he believes in making every sentence in his songs as good as or even better than the one before or after it in order to make a killing on a track, which is why his lyrics are always full of meaning. In saying this he also uses subtle wordplay with the word sentence every he records in studio is a death penalty by hanging to his opposition.
Tucker’s making it clear that he’s ready to go all the way when it comes to standing up for what he believes in, and the people that have supported him from the jump.
Also references a line on “Biggie”, off Notorious BIG’s Born Again Album, released in 1999, which says “I’d rather die on my feet, than live on my knees.”
Tucker’s alluding to the “Sky Is The Limit” phrase, saying he’s trying to surpass what’s considered to be the highest level of success for a Ugandan rapper; many ‘good’ rappers never get signed or impact Ugandan rap or rap in general.
