“Well damn,”

Neil Down disappeared in a flash

Trinity settled in for a fitful night’s sleep

Snow fell quietly outside

And while the fire was sputtering out

Trinity tossed and turned in her bed

The old clock in the hallway chimed one

A swirl of wind kicked up inside the room

And a sharp bright light pierced the darkness

Trinity, disoriented, sat up in her bed

“Oh God, for real?”

And it was for real!

The wind and light rose to a crescendo

And exploded into a warm glow

A figure that was both childlike and wise beyond time emerged

To show Trinity where she came from

And the exact day her younger self lost all of her joy
