No Jangle Thrust

I left town just the other day

Wanted to call you, but I didn't know what to say

So i wrote you a few lines

About how I’m doin' time

I headed down south to try to get away

New Orleans is such a happy town

So why do I feel so sick as I walk around

Happy couples there, i see

That coulda been you and me

Instead my heart drags on the ground

I came back to my state of being

Not thinking about what I’m seeing

Maybe I’m trying to hide

From something deep inside

Staring out into bourbon cryin'

Can't forget you, but man, I’m tryin'

These streets are unfamiliar to me but

Every corner, it's your face i see

Jackson Square makes me start to smile

And I lose myself in the crowd for a whilе

But then I hear a fimiliar song

And i remеmber all along

That now I’m living in the state of denial

I got back just the other day

Wanted to call you but I didn't know what to say

So I wrote a few more lines

About how I spent my time

I headed down south but I couldn't get away
