[Intro]
D.J.! D.J.!
[Verse 1]
Nobody move
Nobody get hurt, they said
Make one wrong move, man
You'll wake up dead
I exercise my lyrical style instead
All the while; you're dead, and gone, and forgotten
I said, awh - are they gonna come back for you?
Naw. Ah, the story's sorry, but true
Lord, if you really want him to go
No. Oh you're so goddamn cold
[Hook]
We're gonna make it on our own
We're gonna make it on our own
[Verse 2]
You got your ear to the street, then this Bud's for you
You got my name in your mouth, then this slug's for you
Shotgun, fast lane, on the highway to hell
Sherm sticks, tall cans, and the powder that sells
Just tryna have somethin
And you sit back and laugh
I'mma grab somethin
I'mma get in that ass
We came too far now, no way we'll get fucked
Wanna drop me, gotta kill me, only way I'mma stop
[Verse 3]
We got 808 subwoofers in the trunk
Around the world with the Rancid Punx
This is for the misfits, the freaks, and the runts
Fuck the motherfuckin backstabbin cunts
Ride's gettin rough, so I know I better buckle
P-U-N-X tattooed on my knuckles
Hey man, you keep the shackles
Cause I am free
[Hook]
We're gonna make it on our own
We're gonna make it on our own
[Instrumental Solo]
[Hook]
We're gonna make it on our own
We're gonna make it on our own
[Verse 4]
I heard you're losing your mind
Shit, I been lost mine
But I still stay focused, through good and bad times
Compare your worst fuckin day to my best fuckin night
Bet my last red cent that you couldn't stand the sight
From loss of loved ones, to life of drug funds
They counted me out, from what? I'm not done
Gimme a chance to shine, and I'mma blind the world
Take a stand and be the voice of those who cannot be heard
[Hook]
We're gonna make it on our own
A true punk til death. He wears it loud and proud.

Solidifies their DGAF attitude – they are seen as extreme by many, but this is their life and they are unapologetic about their lifestyle.
Tim Armstrong is the lead singer in another punk rock band called Rancid
To have your “ear to the street” means you’re plugged in to the local scene (whatever that might be). If you’re that type, then he has a cold brew for you – “This Bud’s for you” was Budweiser beer’s advertising slogan for quite a while. “Bud” could also feasibly refer to weed. Therefore, he is offering a peer something to drink or smoke as a token of welcoming and acceptance into the underground subculture the Transplants represent.

Cheap beer, quick easy way to get a buzz going. Serves a similar role to malt liquor – it doesn’t cost much, and gets you decently fucked up, even though it doesn’t always taste the greatest (but you can get used to anything).
The Transplants members in many ways represent the “outcast” subcultures in existence all over the world.
This song is anthemic to such a theme of being on society’s fringe. Many people feel defiance, hardheadedness, and an insatiable drive to gain financial wealth in modern life. It doesn’t matter if someone tries to keep them down, they are determined to succeed or die trying.

Don’t play! You already knew what he meant.
The fact that they run in circles where illicit drugs are commonplace further solidifies their connection to the street, as well as their disregard for social norms.
He’s not stopping for Police or rivals – the only way he will allow any opposing force to subtract from his wealth, is if they kill him first. That’s how hard he grinds.
Some nutty sons of bitches, smoking them dippers man.

In contrast to the previous line, if you’re the type that talks about other people, he doesn’t have a tolerance for that type of bullshit. “This slug’s for you” plays off the prior Budweiser reference, slug of course refers to the bullet he has ready for anyone who wants to run their jaw.
