[Intro]

Rescue us from this broken world, Lord

[Verse 1]

As I sit in my dark apartment, heartbroken

My carpet's soaked as I start chokin'

From my tears and phlegm

Cryin' with my weary spirit, hope it would near the end

'Cause I'm filled with grief and distress from beatin' my flesh

And from peepin' the world and seein' it's mess

And from bearin' one another's burdens

And prayin' for my mother and older brother's conversion

I wanna worship, but I can barely sing

'Cause I see this hurtin' world perishin'

I shed tears how they break Your Law, they hate You, God

Coverin' their pain with a fake facade

And as I drop into prayer, I'm often aware

How You show me my sin, I'm brought to despair

Come get Your Church, we strugglin' with sin

Fumblin' in the dirt and stumblin' again

Whoever said this Christian walk is easy

Tell 'em tim said to "Come talk and see me"

'Cause it aches as He's breakin' me

As I'm learnin' what it means to wait on Him patiently

So I await to give [reverent?] early

In Your steadfast love, remember mercy

But His grace won't forsake or fail me

'Cause the God of all comfort is faithful daily

I'm screamin'...

[Chorus 1]

Come quickly Lord Jesus

'Cause every day, this walk is more grievous

Appear in the sky, wipe away every tear from our eyes

I know You hear when we cry

Please come quickly Lord Jesus

'Cause every day, this walk is more grievous

Appear in the sky, wipe away every tear from our eyes

And be near when we cry

[Verse 2]

Yo, I know this dope Christian sister

Who finds her only hope exists in Scripture

She's tired of cryin', tired of bein' tired

Tired of the [?] the Messiah

Raised her bros and sis at the age of five

Knows it's only by His grace they stayed alive

And few might find

One who, at 24, seen enough sufferin' to last two lifetimes

Humble as poor peasants, it's rare

She seeks peace found in the Lord's presence and prayer

When tears are soakin', her spirit's broken

Pierced and open, her only cheer and hope is

Christ the treasure, the Word is her nourishment

She longs for Heaven where worship is permanent

She urgently yearns for it

'Til then, she works to give hurtin' persons encouragement

Like on Tasker Street, where homeless cats, they weep

At her feet, beggin' for scraps to eat

But she gives 'em the gospel instead of cash, 'cause he

Will take the money and get him some crack and weed

She cries out for her unsaved family members

Prayin' that the Lord would grant repentance

And be merciful to their hurtin' soul

But in the midst of sorrow, she stays worshipful

Some days, depressed with her pain and stress

She longs for glory where she'll remain at rest

'Til then, long nights and damp tissues

But be strong in Christ, I'll stand witchu

She cries out...

[Chorus 2]

Come quickly Lord Jesus

'Cause every day, this walk is more grievous

But blessed are those who mourn

You'll be comforted when Christ comes to settle this rolling storm

Please come quickly Lord Jesus

'Cause every day, this walk is more grievous

But blessed are those who mourn

You'll be comforted when Christ comes to settle this rolling storm

[Verse 3]

While Americans whine about their worship music

And boast over whose church is cutest

The Church overseas is being persecuted

Merked, abused, the Church is burned and looted

Facin' violence in China

When a young Christian girl refused to deny her Messiah

And spit in a Bible, she was shot in the head

Dropped and was dead when hit with a rifle

From the sinner's curse, this globe's a spinning Earth

Of shame of men and women hurt in pain

So all creation groans

And we await eagerly to change scenery, take us Home

To the Savior's Throne, and I ask the King

"Why are all these tragic things happening?"

Then I'm reminded of the life of Christians

How strife is the price to share in Christ's afflictions

It's the cost of discipleship

Daily bearin' our cross is precisely it

We traded fun, drugs, sex, and beer

In exchange for some blood, sweat, and tears

Christ saved us to make us share and suffer

So we'll shout for joy at the Marriage Supper

He saved us to take our fingertips

From off this wretched life and cherish Heaven's benefits

Then when I think of Christ, I understand

'Cause He suffered more than any other man

Now here's a reality I can't describe

God became a man and cried!

Read the text if you haven't seen it yet

John 11:35 - "Jesus wept"

Despised and forsaken, tried by a pagan

Died just to save men, to rise for salvation

And we're screamin'

[Chorus 3]

Come quickly Lord Jesus

'Cause every day, this walk is more grievous

But these sufferings can't be compared

To glory to come, we'll be amped when we're there

Please come quickly Lord Jesus

'Cause every day, this walk is more grievous

He'll take away the presence of sin

Where we'll praise His Name, forever with Him

[Outro]

Please come quickly Lord Jesus

'Cause every day, this walk is more grievous

Appear in the sky, wipe away every tear from our eyes

I know You hear when we cry
