The trees are growing reckless green
Like they forgot what winter means
Windows open down the street
Warm air underneath my feet
Everybody’s coming back
Laughing on the railroad tracks
And all the light comes pouring in
But it never really hits
Everybody says
“Look how alive it is”
The sky stays gold for hours now
But I just coexist
There’s beauty in the bloom
I see it everywhere
Early summer’s calling me
I’m just not fully there
There’s music drifting from the yard
Someone tuning old guitars
Flowers pushing through the fence
Like healing happens without sense
I hold my beer glass to my chest
Try to feel what all they get
The season changes overnight
But my mind still sleeps through light
Everybody says
“Look how alive it is”
The sky stays gold for hours now
But I just coexist
There’s beauty in the bloom
I see it everywhere
Early summer’s calling me
I’m just not fully there
And I know
Nothing’s wrong with the world tonight
Only something in me
Can’t step into the light
Everybody says
“Look how alive it is”
The sky stays gold for hours now
But I just coexist
There’s beauty in the bloom
I see it everywhere
Early summer’s calling me
I’m just not fully there
Everybody says
“Look how alive it is”
The sky stays gold for hours now
But I just coexist
There’s beauty in the bloom
I see it everywhere
Early summer’s calling me
I’m just not fully there
