[Intro]

Yeah, we gotta stop shooting our own man. Don't you that-- the negative words you say to young men, they perpetuate that? We gotta try to go out there, and tell'em the good about'em. Tell'em what they can be. God made men to be leaders, nah mean?

[Verse 1]

Pillar of the home

The home is the throne

Provider of the wife, he's as solid as a stone

Example for the children

Esteem, he instills in

Architect dreams in'em, call it future building

Look out for the younger men

Knows hewas one of them

Try to give'em warning 'bout the traps that they be running in

No problem sharing wisdom

Stories he has lived from

Pass it on to others as something to benefit from

Knows he can't survive with pride up in his system

Cuz that'll get you merked fast

Laid in that dirt fast

Seen too many homies get zippered up and hurts bad

Learned to be that bigger man

Even when the inner man

Singing Cypress Hill, like "how I could just kill a man"

See worth in another

See the worth in his brothers

Even see worth in his worst baby mother

[Chorus]

If there's problems, you are the answer

You're the solution, you're not the cancer

You are the medicine, you're not the sickness

I got news for you , you make the difference

The Solution!

The Solution!

You see a man like this, you salute him, tell him I appreciate you, you are the Solution!

[Verse 2]

He thinks about a legacy

Leaving something for his kids, money in a treasury

Teach'em how to pray at night, reach up to the heavenlies

He ain't out seeking retribution on his enemies

Drama brings more drama, knows it's not the remedy

But a vicious cycle that goes on until infiniti

And he ain't trying to get assassinated like the Kennedy's

Yeah, he Is thinking longevity

Like chasing 'round his grand kids when he 70

So he needs to be around and not become a memory

A photo and a rest in peace tatoo

Cuz when you leave here ain't no way to swing back through

And mama'nem glad when they see him

He could very well be hanging on the ave in the p.m

Giving hand shakes, handing off a bag when they see him

Instead he's the solution in a man when they see him right!

[Chorus]

If there's problems, you are the answer

You're the solution, you're not the cancer

You are the medicine, you're not the sickness

I got news for you , you make the difference

The Solution!

The Solution!

You see a man like this, you salute him, tell him I appreciate you, you are the Solution!

[Post Chorus]

I just believe that If we begin to tell more men their worth and potential, rather than leave them to the elements of the world we’ll see’em taking more responsibility and showing much more respect and love for one another. I mean… the truth is, only when you understand your own God given worth, you can truly understand someone else’s. If we want more men to step up and be men, we have to learn how to celebrate the productive ones… the ones who make an impact

[Chorus]

If there's problems, you are the answer

You're the solution, you're not the cancer

You are the medicine, you're not the sickness

I got news for you , you make the difference

The Solution!

The Solution!

You see a man like this, you salute him, tell him I appreciate you, you are the Solution!
