Cause I know what’s a longer sentence

To recover and heal

From the reasons they deserved it

Or the pain that they feel

The guilt that eats you slowly

And judgment that you face

Are not synonymous with suffering

That was put in place

So I won’t profess to know

What this one feels like for you

But to close your eyes accept it

Rather than back up and defend it

Was the only thing that you could never do

So this is how it’s gonna go

This is the last plain that I cross

You are the last thing left to burn

I leave the home we built together

Spread the ashes to the earth

When the people that you built this with

All leave and fade away

You will accept that you’ll forever be

The last one to remain

It’s what I face alone

In solitude I must know

That the apathy that kills it lives within

My veins distill it

Will eventually come to swallow me whole

And that is how I’m gonna go

I know this dies with me, so carry to the sea

The struggles, trials and plagues, to bury in the waves

Have I ever really been okay in my own skin?

For people just like me they don’t write songs like this

So let the ocean

Swallow me whole

You know I would give anything to be real again

And I need some rain to wash away it all

Or this is how I’m gonna go
