We all have a little cognitive dissonance
The only way to make it through the day
Now, isn’t it?
There’s a boot on your head
And you’re kissing it
It’s so confusing
Head containing thoughts conflicting
Narrow worldview constricting
Despite data insisting you keep it all managable
I write little songs about the things that are wrong
Because it’s easier than storming the streets
The little rocks that we throw at the tanks
While they roll over our bones with such ease
